Weatherization provides free installation of measures (technical term for services) to promote energy efficiency and reduce home energy consumption, lower energy bills and help enhance residents’ health and safety.
PACE implements the Weatherization Program through funds from two major sources.
LIHEAP/DOE Weatherization Program- Federal grants from the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and the Department of Energy (DOE) and administered by the California Department of Community Services and Development. Qualified residents who live in specific, targeted zip codes in Los Angeles County may receive free energy efficiency measures. The program prioritizes the elderly, disabled and children, among others. For more information, please call 213-989-3283.
Energy Savings Assistance Program- Contributions of Southern California Gas Company rate payers administered by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). The program assists income-qualified customers of the utility company and is available to those who live in its service area by providing no-cost energy-saving home improvements. Eligible customers may receive free attic insulation, weather-stripping and minor home repairs. For more information, please call Sam Sanchez at 213-989-3290.
